Description
| This dataset comprises raw and processed experimental data generated during the PhD research project titled "SUSTAINABLE VALORIZATION OF CASHEW APPLE BAGASSE (ANACARDIUM OCCIDENTALE): DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL STRATEGIES FOR THE EXTRACTION AND APPLICATION OF VALUE-ADDED BIOCOMPOUNDS IN A BIOREFINERY CONCEPT", conducted at the Faculty of Food Engineering (FEA/UNICAMP). The core objective of this research is to develop sustainable, scalable technological routes to valorize agro-industrial waste, specifically cashew apple bagasse, into high-value materials and biocompounds. Given the comprehensive nature of this thesis, the complete research is structured into several experimental chapters. Consequently, the datasets for each chapter will be uploaded to this repository sequentially and managed as distinct subsets. The data deposited herein are predominantly quantitative, originating from controlled laboratory experiments. Depending on the specific chapter/subset, the methodology encompasses: • Biomass Pre-treatment and Processing: Raw experimental logs regarding the washing, extraction, and drying of cashew apple bagasse biomass. • Material Synthesis: Formulation parameters for the development of biocomposites, cryogels, or polymer blends using various matrices and reinforcement fillers. Analytical Characterization: Raw and treated instrumental data obtained from a suite of techniques used to evaluate the physical, thermal, mechanical, and structural properties of the materials (e.g., TGA, DSC, FTIR, and mechanical tensile testing). The information is organized to ensure clarity and reproducibility for the scientific community, consisting of Spreadsheets (.xlsx/.csv) containing raw data points from equipment, replicates/triplicates, calculated means, standard deviations, and statistical analyses (such as ANOVA or post hoc tests). The datasets compiled in this repository were systematically processed and analyzed to construct the figures, tables, and discussions presented across the experimental chapters of the final doctoral thesis.
